By now we’ve all delved into And Just Like That, or steered clear from the reboot for fear of ruining the original, but regardless of your stance, you know that one vital character was missing from the plot.
Yes, Samantha Jones played by Kim Cattrall is a very important character in the original series, dare we say it the best character?
But the long-standing feud between Kim and SJP meant that after the second SATC movie the return of Samantha was a no go as the actress made it very clear she was finished with the show.

Fans held out hope of some sort of appearance in the reboot, but even though Kim isn’t interested, it seems that she wasn’t even asked!
Speaking to Variety she explained, “I was never asked to be part of the reboot. I made my feelings clear after the possible third movie, so I found out about it like everyone else did — on social media.”
The actress admitted when she heard the news she wondered how it would work without her.
“It’s a great wisdom to know when enough is enough. I also didn’t want to compromise what the show was to me. The way forward seemed clear…” she added.

Kim also assured viewers that she would not be joining the second season of the show, “That’s a no. It’s powerful to say no.’
Her character was referenced in the new series as they explained she had relocated to London after falling out with her friends, the door seems to be left open a few times for an appearance though, but we guess it’s time to really let that dream go…
Kim is now starring in another spin-off of a much-loved show, How I Met Your Father, a rejig of How I Met Your Mother, has Kim playing Hilary Duff’s future self. The show is set to premiere on Disney + this month.
