Checklist at the ready!

It’s festival season guys!!!

Festivals are a unique experience, you never really know what time it is, you rarely eat vegetables and showers aren’t really a thing… But you do look great.

Whether you’re a festival veteran or it’s your first time trekking through the glitter-filled fields, we could all use a bit of help getting ready for the madness that is a music festival.

Here is a complete checklist of necessities to make sure you’re fully prepared when it comes to packing.

1) Camping equipment

Not all music festivals have campsites, but if they do you want to make sure you are ready!

Grab yourself a good quality waterproof tent that folds up nice and small, a thermal sleeping bag and possibly an extra blanket. Make sure you test out you’re equipment at home before making the journey up to the campsite. There’s nothing worse than getting all the way up to the crowded field and finding out the zipper on your tent doesn’t close.

2) Toiletries

There’s no need to bring your complete 12-step skincare routine and a selection of shower products. Let’s be honest, in a field surrounded by empty beer cans, no one is that concerned with their ice roller. However, you may want the basics. Bring a packet of cleansing wipes, makeup, skincare (including SPF!) a toothbrush and toothpaste, some deodorant, a hairbrush and extra hair bands.

Remember there are no make-up vanities in campsites so bring a small hand-held mirror for when you are getting ready.

You may also want to bring some toilet paper and a bottle of hand sanitizer for those lovely porta-loos.

3) Technology

Of course, you’re going to bring your phone. But you are at the festival for three days, with limited access to charging ports so make sure you bring some fully charged battery packs to keep your phone alive.

4) Food and Drink

Festival days are long days and if you aren’t careful you can end up getting dehydrated. Make sure to pack a reusable water bottle so you can fill it up at the taps and keep yourself fresh.

Food at festivals is always more expensive than anywhere else so do yourself a favour and pack some fruit and granola bars to have as a snack.

5) Clothes

Of course you’re going to have your fab festival ‘fits but also make sure to pack some practical wear as well.

We all know the Irish weather is unpredictable, so even if your festival is during the summer, wellies are always the best choice for footwear. Pop a light rain jacket into your bag as well just in case.

Although it may be warm during the day, it can get pretty chilly at night, to keep the party going into the early hours make sure and pack yourself some warm trackies, a jumper and fresh socks!

6) Essentials

No matter how prepared you are, you will be going nowhere without your festival ticket and ID. Even if you’re a contactless girly, I would recommend bringing some physical cash with you as well, you never know when you’ll need it!
