Watch The Trailer: A Documentary Is Being Made About Britney And Her Conservatorship

Good news, its out in February!

Britney Spears and her conservatorship has been much talked about over the past year, and the subject is now being turned into a documentary.

You have more than likely spotted the #FREEBRITNEY hashtag circulating this year, but don’t worry if you need a little catching up, we have you covered.

What is conservatorship?

This legal term is for when a guardian or a protector is appointed by a judge to manage the financial affairs of another due to physical or mental limitations, or old age.

In Britney’s case, she is under her father, Jamie Spear’s conservatorship, which means he has control over her estate and finances and has been for 12 years.

Initially it came into place because of a breakdown she suffered back in 2008, but many think it has gone on to long. The star also accused her father of trying to force her into a mental facility in 2019.

Many fans have been concerned for the pop star as some believe she is under the control of her Dad unnecessarily, as this also concerns her custody rights with her children, Sean Preston, 15 and Jayden, 14.

As you can see there is a huge amount of public interest surrounding Britney and her conservatorship, which is why a documentary is being made on the subject. Produced by The New York Times the program will also show her early years and her rise to fame as a teenager.

Where can you watch it?

The doc will make it’s premiere on FX, a US network. But you can also watch it on streaming service Hulu where it will be from the 5th of February.
