It wouldn’t be easy to forget that moment, almost five years ago, where Kim Kardashian was held at gunpoint in her hotel. It’s one of those moments where we remember exactly where we were and what we were doing. We can only imagine how terrifying the whole ordeal was.

Now, almost five years later, one of the suspects in Kim’s Paris robbery has written a tell-all book, aptly titled ‘I Kidnapped Kim Kardashian’. In case you need a reminder (although we doubt you will), five men disguised as police officers were let into Paris’ Hotel de Pourtalès, where they forced the concierge to lead them to Kim K’s room. There, they restrained Kim and held her at gunpoint, while they stole more than £7m of jewellery, including her £3.5m engagement ring from husband Kanye West.

At least 17 people were arrested in connection with the robbery, with 12 now waiting to stand trial.

One of the suspects, Yunis Abbas has written the book: J’ai Séquestré Kim Kardashian, translated as I Kidnapped Kim Kardashian. In the book, Yunis Abbas has revealed even more details about the night, including claims that Tracey Chapman tried to call Kim during the robbery, and that he left behind a £26,000 necklace because he simply couldn’t carry everything on his bike.

Abbas maintains that he never left the ground floor of the hotel and did not enter Kim’s hotel room, although he is planning to pleas guilty to charges. He explained that he wrote the book because he was being portrayed as “a very uninviting character,” but also reveals that the robbery was the  kind of heist “every mobster dreams of.”

Kim, or any of her family, are yet to comment on the book’s release.
