8 Game-Changing Beauty Tricks We’ve Learned From Kylie Jenner
From strobing tweaks to flawless foundation combos, KJ is quickly becoming our go-to make-up guru.
There are two big reasons we trust everything Kylie Jenner has to say when it comes to beauty. One, because she always looks immaculate and two, because she has access to some of the world’s best make-up artists, who’ve undoubtedly passed on loadsa their knowledge to the youngest Kardashian.
Of course, Kylie also has a massive platform to share her tips on, often taking to Snapchat, Instagram and her app to talk about her fave products and application tricks.
Here are just a few Kylie-approved beauty tips that are sure to revolutionise your daily make-up routine.
Brow tinting
When a fan blasted Kylie’s eyebrows for not looking ‘natural’ in a recent make-up-free snap, Kylie responded by telling her the secret to her perfect arches: Brow tinting. A simple dye job and her eyebrows look amaze without make-up. BRB, off to the salon.
Mixing foundations
Make-up do or make-up don’t? Well, Kylie reckons that mixing two foundation formulas is a total must, and recently revealed that her favourite flawless combo is Makeup Forever’s Ultra HD Foundation and Urban Decay’s Skin One & Done Hybrid Complexion Perfector. She combines the two, then applies with a make-up sponge.
This moisturiser trick
This one’s so simple, we can’t believe we didn’t think of it ourselves. Instead of using her fingertips to apply her moisturiser, Kylie revealed on her app that she uses a brush for a more flawless finish. Apparently she’s a big fan of Artis Elite Brushes for doing just that.
Always wet your beauty blender
Here’s a quick tip from Kardashian MUA Mario Dedivanovic which Kylie recently shared on Snapchat: if you want your powder to stay all day, get your beauty blender extra wet and then dab it onto the skin. The extra moisture will help the product to set. Got it.
Apply foundation above your brows
Another hot tip we learned from Kylie’s snapchat? For more defined arches, apply a small line of foundation above each brow and blend. So simple. So effective.
Shave balm as a primer
Nikkie Tutorials was the first to endorse this deadly beauty trick, and KJ is a fan too, saying that Nivea Men’s Post-Shave Balm is great for mattifying oily skin. Simply apply after your moisturiser and before foundation to give your make-up extra staying power.
This mascara hack
Kylie’s known for wearing lashings of mascara and in a tutorial she filmed with celebrity make-up artist Joyce Bonelli, she reveals how she creates the illusion of bigger eyes, while keeping her lashes clump-free. Joyce explains: “When putting on the mascara, I always let it hit the skin because it kind of adds a little bit more.” The lesson? Don’t be afraid to make a little bit of a mess. Apparently a few subtle smudges make for a more wide-awake look.
Apply highlight before your foundation
The Kardashians are the queens of contour, but it’s the trend’s little sister strobing that Kylie seems to have down pat. For a more subtle take on highlighting, the reality star suggests applying your illuminator on the high places of your face first, and then popping your foundation on over the top. That lit from within glow? Yeah, we’ll take it.
