Who Is Griff? UK Singer Songwriter We’re Obsessed With Rn
Our new fav artist
Singer-songwriter Griff is blowing up and we can sense that she is going to become one of the next biggest artists – she’s just that good!
But who is she, and why are we so obsessed?
Sarah Faith Griffiths was born in 2001 in Hertfordshire and taught herself how to produce music from a young age at home.
To this day her biggest song, ‘Last Nights Mascara’, was produced from the comfort of her bedroom. Griff told us last year that she, “didn’t think it was possible! I just didn’t think it was a job. There were two sides of me fighting – do I go down the sensible route or do I do something creative?”
@wiffygriffy Thank you last night’s mascara lovers 💋 see you tonight orlando!!! #shortnsweet #lastnightsmascara ♬ original sound – Griff
The singer, 24, has caught the attention (for good reason) of many since opening for Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet tour and Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour last year.
Griff has always been a huge fan of Taylor Swift and couldn’t believe it when the star began to shout out her music on Twitter and Instagram. She admitted to The Guardian that she was“horrendously nervous” when showcasing her work in front of others and that in a perfect world, nobody would hear her music.
Luckily for us, Griff decided to shake off the nerves and bless our ears with her talent. She began posting her music on social media before she was signed by Warner in 2019.

She was the perfect opening act for Sabrina and Taylor. Her debut album Vertigo came out in two separate segments in 2023 and 2024 – and it is incredible.
The album consists of 14 tracks, its inspiration a mixture of Whitney, Prince and Lorde. Check out ‘Vertigo’ and ‘Everlasting’ if you’re looking for a starting point.
Griff is currently living in London after her many stadium appearances. It took over 3 years to release her debut album, so we expect it could be a while before we get another record from the star.
Still, she has released a single since then and has featured on a song with Danish singer Cristopher, which are both on repeat.
More please!
