Move Over Kylie, This Is The New Lip Kit That Social Media Is Going Batsh*t For
We need it. Not want. NEED.
Kylie Jenner’s mini beauty empire has been rapidly growing since she launched her first Kylie Cosmetics product back in December. With 15 lip kits, a range of metallic and gloss shades, eyeshadow palettes and eyeliner now on sale, the almost-19-year-old has certainly been building quite a business for herself over the last eight months.
Ms. Jenner had better watch her tail, however, as one of the beauty industry’s legends is about to reclaim the crown with a lip kit of her very own.
Make-up artist Pat McGrath, who has long been regarded as the most influential woman in the biz, has just confirmed details of her newest Pat McGrath Labs kit, and it’s a lipstick set that will most definitely give Kylie a run for her money.
Pat first debuted a ‘glitter lip’ look on Versace models at Paris’s Haute Couture Fashion Week in July, and Instagram instantly had a meltdown. Bella Hadid with a vampy red lip that resembles a disco ball? YES PLEASE.
The Labs Lust 004 kit contains everything you need to re-create the high-fashion look. It launches August 30th, and for $60 (€54) you get not one but two matte lipsticks (take that, Kylie), a clear vinyl gloss, gold metallic pigment and microfine glitter.
Swoon.
This is Pat’s fourth addition to the Labs line – you might remember the eerily beautiful microfine gold pigment she launched for her first kit back in December – but it’s the first one to focus solely on the lips. Lust 004 is available in three shade families: flesh (nude), vermillion (red) and bloodwine (a vampier, darker red).
‘We Learn’: Kylie Responded To A Scathing Review Of Her Lip Kits In The Classiest Way
Oh, and just look at that packaging, it just screams ‘Cher Horowitz’s mood board,’ right?
“I wanted to create the ultimate editorial kit that takes you from nothing all the way to the most extreme, jeweled, three-dimensional mouth,” Pat told US Vogue.
Jewelled? Extreme? Three-dimensional? We are SOLD.
