Here’s Everything We Know About The Second Season Of Killing Eve
Spoilers for the first season, of course.
One of the TV highlights of last year was Killing Eve, the stylish, blackly comic crime drama starring Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer.
There were twists, turns, amazing performances, and two indelible main characters – the passionate yet overlooked MI6 agent Eve (Oh) and the fashion-conscious assassin, Villanelle (Comer), each slowly becoming almost fatally obsessed with the other.
Thankfully, we don’t have to wait too long to find out what happens next. Here’s everything you need to know about season two.
Where do we pick up?
Well, according to the BBC, the new season opens just 36 seconds after the last one ended with Eve stabbing Villanelle, and Villanelle just… taking off. Where did she go? Is she alive or dead? Eve has no idea, and is understandably freaking out.
Producer Emerald Fennell told Entertainment Weekly that Eve and Villanelle will discover that they aren’t so different after all:
We’re starting starting to see the mirror-image similarities between them, for the good and the bad. What does it look like when a psychopath starts to learn how to feel things, and when a woman who’s incredibly empathetic and intuitive starts to lose those parts of herself? At what point do they meet?

Innnteresting. Comer revealed to EW that Villanelle is angered by the events of the season finale, for the simple reason that she was stabbed, yes, but also because she now does not understand what Eve wants. “What I loved about the final scene was that Villanelle thinks she’s in control, and the rug gets completely pulled out from under her feet,” she says.
There are lots of threads from the first season left to unravel – what exactly is the organisation that hires Villanelle to kill people? Who is Konstantin, really? How will Eve’s relationship with her husband Niko survive? It’s gonna be a meaty one.
Is there a trailer?
The latest trailer dropped over the weekend, and shows a frazzled Eve attempting to find Villanelle again (and denying any ‘feelings’ to her boss Carolyn), while the assassin escapes hospital and causes trouble in a variety of flamboyant disguises.
In one small scene, an influencer type approaches her and asks to take her picture for her Instagram page, to which Villanelle retorts: “No. Of course not. Get a real life.” They’re sparing no one.
When is it on?
The first episode of the second season airs on April 7 on BBC America, and we would hope it will quickly follow suit on BBC UK. Come along now fellas. Give the people what they want.
