Amber Rose Gill Claps Back At Tik Tok Body Shamers
"Whoever put on weight this year don’t worry I’m with you."
Love Island star, Amber Rose Gill has clapped back at trolls who have been body shaming her online. Posting a snap to Instagram yesterday she shared that she’d seen video on Tik Tok criticising how she looks.
“Not me on tiktok being fat shamed?! What? First of all we are in a pandemic. Second How do people look so closely that they notice before I even notice.”

Rather than sharing how upset this made her or making it an angry post, instead she kept it light-hearted and positive for her followers, as let’s be real we’re all in the same boat here.
Like the rest of us, the 23 year old has been chilling out at home throughout the pandemic and with gyms closed and restrictions in place it’s only normal that many of us have gained weight.
“I’ve been living in hoodies and sweatpants for the whole of this year and ended up putting on a whole stone!”
“I can’t lie I was shocked but I cannot cook to save my life so it was takeout breakfast lunch and dinner so I don’t know what I expected and with another lockdown potentially on the horizon it could happen again.”

The 23-year-old continued; “I’m sure the people that commented are the image of perfection so thank you for that. Whoever put on weight this year don’t worry I’m with you.”
So often Instagram is used as a place to celebrate weight loss, and show off transformations. But this is not the year for that, posts like this from Amber are exactly what we need to be seeing.
We all have to be a little bit kinder to ourselves in 2020.
