STELLAR PROMOTION: This is Penneys’ first collection of leisure, nightwear, underwear and accessories designed for those who have experienced breast cancer and undergone breast surgery
Let’s face it, we all love Penneys. It’s hard not to with stylish clothes, excellent prices, and a wide selection to choose from. Yep, Penneys earned our adoration decades ago, and now, they’re giving us even more reason to love them.
Introducing a new collection and campaign in support of Breast Cancer Awareness month. This is Penneys’ first collection of leisure, nightwear, underwear and accessories designed for those who have experienced breast cancer and undergone breast surgery.
The hero product in the collection is the post-surgery two-pack zip-up bra. These bras are lightweight and designed for optimum comfort with a front and back closure to allow for easy dressing immediately after surgery.
They include pockets for a prosthesis on either side, while the fabric offers a soft and light touch against the skin and cooling qualities to keep things comfy.
The new collection has been informed by focus groups with cancer patients and oncology nurses to trial and test the products.
The resulting collection has a focus on comfort and style and is designed to allow for ease of dressing post-surgery, with fabrics which are noted for their cooling qualities and soft touch.
The range also features a selection of items made with recycled or sustainable cotton and recycled polyester as part of the Primark Cares label.
The 22-piece collection is now available in selected Penneys shops with prices starting from €4, while the 2-pack post-surgery bras are €14.
Along with the new range, an awareness campaign is running throughout Penneys stores this October to raise awareness on the importance of detection and self-examination.
Educational material created in collaboration with The Irish Cancer Society will be available in stores, on the Primark social media pages, and website to encourage customers to check their breasts regularly and create awareness around breast cancer and aid prevention.
As part of this campaign, Penneys have committed to donating a total of £250,000 to local charities supporting breast cancer research across the 14 countries they operate in. The Irish charity is the Irish Cancer Society.
You can shop the range in selected stores now.
