Vinted is finally coming to Ireland this week, and we’re ecstatic.

You’ve probably heard of Depop, but Vinted is a cheaper, less curated site where you can find almost any secondhand clothing and accessories.

It might require a fair bit of sifting, but if you have the patience, you can discover some seriously hidden gems.

The secondhand site operates across 12 countries, and from Tuesday, Ireland will finally be included in the mix.

With the site set to launch here on November 12, we’re here to share some of the best places to find secondhand bargains in Ireland.

Depop

Depop is likely the best-known secondhand clothing site, and for good reason. It’s ideal for selling your own clothes, as you can easily promote your Depop account on social media and follow friends on the app, making it a blend of social media and marketplace.

Depop is also fantastic for snagging some of your favourite influencers’ clothes, if you’re quick enough. Many influencers sell items from their wardrobe at very affordable prices, so you could score some valuable pieces at a bargain if you’re fast to catch their latest posts.

Molly-Mae, for example, has been known to sell items from her seriously impressive wardrobe, where she has a staggering 382,000 followers.

Other influencers who have been known to do wardrobe clear-outs on Depop include Olivia Neill and Keelin Moncrieff, so keep an eye out if you’re a fan of their style.

eBay

eBay has an amazing selection of second-hand clothes, and the trick is knowing what you’re looking for.

It’s not ideal for casual browsing due to the overwhelming amount of items, but if you have a specific piece in mind, trust me – eBay will likely have it, and it’ll probably be selling for much less than on other sites.

It’s completely free to sell on the site with no additional charges, and you can remain as anonymous as you please on the app.

They’re really establishing themselves in the fashion world and are constantly partnering with influencers to demonstrate that eBay is just as good as other second-hand sites,.

Vestiaire

Vestiaire is a French website specialising in second-hand designer and high-end clothing. If you’re considering a significant purchase on a luxury item, it might be worth checking Vestiaire to see if you can find it for less.

The site has a fantastic authentication process if you’re unsure about an item’s legitimacy, and you can find some truly affordable designer pieces if you’re willing to browse a little.

Vestiaire isn’t as profile-driven as Depop, and the site is more hands-on with the selling process, which has its pros and cons.

If you’re a buyer, you’ll receive your item within just seven days, which is great; however, if you’re a seller, Vestiaire takes a 12% commission. The site ships internationally, so anything that catches your eye can be yours, no matter where it’s located.

Sellpy

Sellpy is a Swedish company founded in Stockholm and is partially owned by H&M. The app operates across all EU countries and offers shipping to Ireland in just four to seven days.

Although it’s one of the lesser-known clothing sites, you might have come across it on Ireland’s own Stockholm-based influencer Verona Farrell’s social media, where she frequently shares Sellpy hauls in her videos.

If you’re a fan of that Scandinavian, Matilda Djerf-esque style, there are a lot of great-quality Scandi brands on the site at affordable prices.
