Trinny Of Trinny And Susannah Now Has Her Own Makeup Range, And It Looks Dead Handy For Travelling

Remember in the early 2000s when you used to watch Trinny and Susannah grabbing women’s ‘muffin tops’ and making them stand in 360-degree mirrors so they could point out their flaws? Ah, the heady days before body positivity.

While the pair of them have laid low on this side of the world for a while (they’ve been doing TV shows in places like Israel, Sweden, and India), Trinny recently started her own makeup brand, Trinny London.

Yesterday, she came to Dublin for the Irish launch in Brown Thomas – and well, even though we’re still a little bit scared of her thanks to What Not To Wear, we have to say she’s created a pretty novel makeup brand.

The range is all cream-based, and contained in little pots that can be stacked on top of each other so you can easily throw them in a handbag.

There are blushes, concealers, foundations, bronzers, eyeshadows, lipsticks, and even a mattifying balm that can take the place of a powder. Handy!

Sali Hughes, the beauty oracle, was pleasantly surprised by the quality:

The Cheekbones Contour Creams are damned near perfect… they blend like a dream without blushes or any real skill. Just A Touch is a silky balm that thins nicely to a sheer foundation, then pats on as a light coverage concealer. There are better individual products for each job, but the concentrated dose and multifunctionality make these extremely useful for travellers.

Now, as you might have guessed from it being stocked in Brown Thomas, Trinny London is a luxury brand – prices for the stackable items start at €19 for the Lip Glow gloss, and stretch up to €34 for the foundation. The cheapest item is an empty Trinny pot for €8.50, which you can use to decant your old favourites into so you can add them to your stack.

Though if you regularly find yourself attempting makeup on the bus, or stuffing way too much into the tiny plastic bag at the airport, this might just be a good investment.
