Sam Thompson And Zara McDermott Split After 16 Months Of Dating

This news comes just days after Sam Thompson's sister, Louise shared a series of cryptic tweets about cheating.

Made In Chelsea’s Sam Thompson and Zara McDermott have called it a day on their relationship after 16 months of dating.

Apparently, the driving force behind the split was a lot of fighting brought on by the couple moving in together during lockdown, a source tells the Mail Online.

The pair were only spotted enjoying a loved up break in Mykonos last month and so, the split came as a shock to fans who thought the pair were stronger than ever.

But it looks like there could be more to the story if Louise Thompson’s recent tweets have anything to do with what’s going on. Over the past couple of days Louise has posted a series of tweets about cheating. Firstly, people believed they were to do with her past and dating Spencer Matthews, however, fans now think it was a sign of things to come and that she was reminiscing following her brother’s split from Zara.


According to the source, Zara and Sam split just over a week ago, but have been laying low since calling it a day.

“Zara has moved back to her parents house in Essex where she’s taking some time for herself, she really loved Sam so this hasn’t been easy for her,” the source explained.

Continuing, they added that Sam on the other hand, is staying in his London house, where he resides next to his sister, taking some time off social media to “clear his head”.

Sam and Zara went public with their relationship in May 2019, months after Zara split from Love Island co-star, Adam Collard. She then joined the cast of Made In Chelsea late last year, continuing to film right up until lockdown with the rest of the gang.

But Sam and Zara’s fights became centre stage in the show during the last few episodes, when Sam’s ex Tiff Watson joined the cast again as a single woman.

Sam and Tiff previously dated for a couple of years before splitting in 2017. Besides a fling with Sophie Habbo, Tiffany was Sam’s last serious girlfriend before Zara and so, it became a difficult on screen situation for the Love Islander.

Zara moved into Sam’s house just before lockdown commenced, shortly moving out following their split in recent weeks.

Neither Sam or Zara have commented on the split.
