Could The Chaos Of The February/March Theory Actually Be… A Good Thing?

This may explain life’s recent chaos.

Another day another of TikTok hypothesis to add to the list of ways we try to make sense of our complicated lives.

We are all aware that February is the month of love, or for some of us, a reminder of how single we are… but what if we were to told you that things might be a little deeper than what meets the eye?

The February/March theory is essentially the idea that these two months are pivotal for ending old cycles and letting go of bad habits, things, or relationships, in preparation for a new beginning.

You may feel as though life takes a sort of a plunge during these months. Things seem to be up in the air and getting through each day can be a struggle, especially when you can’t see the path ahead.

The February/March theory would imply that really, everything is falling into alignment for the bigger and better things that are to come. It’s a kind of comforting thought, right?

Personally, February has always been a time of upheaval in my life. Nothing ever seemed to be permanent, something always went wrong, and relationships would run their course. The one thing it has always been consistent with is causing chaos.

Now that I can look back, and reflect on these supposedly darker times, a lot of good came from the bad. I found my first love in February. I went through my first breakup in February. I began my first Job in February. I met my last boyfriend in February. I even moved my whole life across the country in February… twice!

Yes, it has always been a messy month of turbulence and unease, but in reality, it was always a redirection, a shift in my life as I once knew it, and we all know there is nothing comfortable about change.

Let’s get into the specifics.

Without trying to make everything about romance, this theory revolves highly around love. February has become a notorious period for breakups and the finding of unexpected love. Both are on complete opposite ends of the scale, but they have nevertheless found common ground in February, or so it would seem.

This could mean the ending of a long-term relationship, the resurfacing of an ex, or finding a soulmate connection.

So, where is the evidence?

Like most of the TikTok theories, this one isn’t necessarily supported by hard-core evidence. A lot of what we must go off is people and the experiences they have shared.

Most of the discussions regarding the February/March theory across the platform would suggest that people have, for the most part, been affected by its premise.

TikToker @lifequotes2.1 shared a video with the caption: “The February/March theory is real and it’s when new relationships begin, and most couples break up.

“I don’t know if it’s something in the air, but either a lot of people become official during this season or break up. And I’m talking long-term relationships that usually come to an end during this time. It can happen to the best of us in some shape or form.”

…and the comments would agree.

One person commented, “Spring cleaning!”, whilst a handful wrote, “Can confirm.”

Many expressed how their relationships had both began and ended during these months… honestly the synchronicities are kind of creepy

Another TikToker, @victoria.alario believes that “What happens in February, stays in February.”

She continues, “It’s a big month for breakups, and ending relationships and ending cycles and vice versa… for starting. So, if you meet somebody new, go on a first date, somebody new comes into your life that might be a thing, they’re most likely sticking around!”

It seems that there is a mutual agreement about the months of February and March. Whether it may be a coincidence or not, this theory sheds a positive light on change. It teaches us that it is okay for you to not have complete control over everything in your life and that transformation should be embraced.

So, if your relationship is on the rocks, or your world feels like it’s falling apart, maybe just let it.
