Like many of us, Louise Cooney has shared that she’s not feeling her best in recent days.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, Louise explained how it has all “hit” her this week “how different life is”.
Having packed up all her things and moved to New York City in August 2019, Louise was only settled in her new city seven months when she made the decision to come home, as fear around the pandemic was mounting.
Speaking on her Instagram at the time, Louise said:
“I’m so excited to finally be able to share the news that my US visa was approved today.. and I’m moving to New York!!! lived there 5 years ago, and I always wanted to go back… so it’s finally happening!!!”

Louise then found herself an apartment in Manhattan which she has only recently given up. Explaining the tough decision to give up the apartment, Louise revealed that she knew her chances of returning to New York this year were becoming less and less, and because she was still paying rent, she knew she had to make a decision.
Now home six months, Louise explained that she’s feeling a little bit run down in the past few days, uncertain about what’s ahead and really taking in how much has changed for her so soon.

“I haven’t been on chatting this week really because I just feel like I’m in really bad form this week, just having a shit week, and I know a lot of people are.”
Continuing, she added:
“It’s really hit me this week how different life is. I’m at home 6 months now, and I’ve seen nobody this week but my mom, my brother, and my dad.
“I work at home by myself. I’m just so fed up. But I am going to try and focus on the positives – there’s always positives even though it doesn’t feel like it right now.”

Last month Louise revealed that she plans to stay in Ireland for the time being and is currently looking for a new place, however, didn’t reveal if she was set to move back to Dublin or stay in Limerick.
Adding some advice for those who feel in similar situations, like life has really flipped on them, Louise noted that she finds playing with her dog, exercising and writing things down good for dealing with bad days.
“It’s just about sharing how we’re feeling, because there is no end in sight for this right now – so we just have to go through the motions and the feelings and adjust, and try to stay positive.”
We couldn’t agree more.
