Kylie Jenner Is Clapping Back At People Who Say She Isn’t A “Self-Made Billionaire”
"Not a dime in my bank account is inherited."
Forbes recently named Kylie Jenner as the youngest self-made billionaire ever, estimating her net worth at one billion dollars. However, lots of people weren’t happy that the 21-year-old received the title.
Kylie owns 100% of Kylie Cosmetics, which made $360 million in sales last year and is valued at a whopping $800 million. Despite this, people think that naming her as a “self-made billionaire” is pretty rich, seeing as she comes from an already wealthy/famous family.
Now, Kylie wants to make clear that she has earned her money through solely her own work, saying that her wealthy family stopped providing for her as a teenager.
In a new interview with Interview Germany, Kylie has defended her Forbes title, saying: “There’s really no other word to use other than self-made because that is the truth. That is the category that I fall under.”

Kylie admits she’s aware that her celebrity status gave her a leg up in the industry, but says she has been self-sufficient for the last six years.
“I am a special case because before I started Kylie Cosmetics, I had a huge platform and lots of fans,” she says. “I did not get money from my parents past the age of 15. I used 100 percent of my own money to start the company, not a dime in my bank account is inherited… and I am very proud of that.”
Even Kylie herself is surprised by the success of her business.
“I never thought that this could happen. I believed in Kylie Cosmetics but I didn’t even know what I was getting myself into,” she says. “It feels amazing, it’s wild, and being the youngest ever to do it is a blessing. I now want to focus on giving back to people and doing things that I’m passionate about.”

So, basically everyone saying her fortune isn’t self-made can shut it!
