New Netflix Rom Com ‘Tall Girl’ Is Facing Major Criticism Before It’s Even Been Released

There are few things we love more in this world than a good ol’ cheesy rom-com, and Netflix is usually our go to place to search.

From 13 Going On 30 to 10 Things I Hate About You, we’ll pretty much sit through anything.

But it seems as if Netflix’s brand new original movie is ruffling a few feathers before it even hits the streaming service, and viewers are less than pleased.

The trailer, which dropped earlier this week, shows high school student Jodi struggle to fit in with her class mates due to her height – leaving some people a bit miffed about the ‘minority’ the movie is choosing to represent.

Now, we’re sure it was unintentional, but it does seem a tad tone deaf on the producers behalf to hone in on a stigma such as height, when there are far more pressing matters at hand in schools these days – with one YouTube comment calling them out for highlighting ‘stereotypes that are literally non existent’

Some more viewers took to social media to have their say, and most people were saying the same thing.

But of course, there were some that jumped to the movie’s defense, pointing out that we might just be reading too much into it…

The movie comes out on September 13th when you can make your mind up for yourselves.

Will you be watching?
