Regé-Jean Page Reveals If He Is Returning To Bridgerton For Season 3

It might not be what you want to hear...

We’ve all heard the rumours about the Duke of Hastings maybe making an appearance in the upcoming seasons of Bridgerton, but he is finally setting the record straight.

The 34-year-old actor shot to fame in season one of the record-breaking show but decided to leave the series to pursue other projects before the second season. His character’s wife Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) remained in the series and claimed her husband was “away” when not present on screen.

After the success of season two rumours began to swirl that Regé-Jean was ready to return to Mayfair and resume his duties as Duke. Fans were delighted with the news as he stole the hearts of many during his brooding portrayal in season one, but his take on the situation mightn’t be what viewers want to hear…

The actor wrote on Instagram after the rumours arose saying, “No, I’m not going back to the show btw – the papers made that one up.” Aww!

So, if we have the original Duke definitely not returning…What if we got a new one?

Regé-Jean opened up to Variety about the idea of re-casting the role saying, “They’re free to do as they like.”

“Shonda and I had a wonderful conversation at the end of Season one. We were quite happy with how we’d stuck the landing on that one…I’m still proud of how we stuck the landing on that one,” he added.

If you’re missing Regé-Jean on your screens you can catch him in his latest flick The Gray Man which he stars in alongside Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans and Ana De Armas. The film is out in Irish cinemas from July 15th!
