Well, this is pretty exciting.

Even before we were quarantined in our own homes, The Chase was tv gold. Now, it just makes our day. Whether you’re shouting answers at the tv on your lunch break, or wracking your brains over capitals of the world while it’s on at dinner. It’s set to get even better, as a former Irish contestant on the show has managed to bag himself a brand new job, as one of the Chasers.
Darragh Ennis went viral three years ago, back in 2017 when he banked £9,000 on the show, but had to play with only a £2,700 pot because his teammates took lower offers. Times like this is when we would be eye-rolling hard at the tv. A #Justicefordarragh hashtag started trending, and even a GoFundMe page was set up to get him the cash he missed out on winning.

A source close to the show told the Mirror, “Darragh has got what it takes to be a Chaser, he has been put to the test and passed with flying colours. They don’t bring in new members on The Chase regularly so this is a big deal for the show and Darragh. The show is so popular with spin off shows now as well so there is a need to increase the team. No one is leaving, Darragh is very much an addition to the team.”
He is the newest quiz master to join The Chase team since Jenny Ryan joined back in 2015. Joining Jenny ‘The Vixen’ Ryan, Anne ‘The Governess’ Hegerty, Paul ‘Sinnerman’ Sinha, Shaun ‘Dark Destroyer’ Wallace and Mark ‘The Beast’ Labbett. Really, we can’t wait to hear what his nickname is going to be to be honest.
