The Late Late Toy Show Trailer Is Here And The Excitement Is Too Much
There's just over a week to go until the biggest show of the year.
Each and every year, we wait patiently for the Late Late Toy Show. It means it’s the official start of Christmas, and we’re so here for it. The Toy Show is always jam-packed with heart-warming moments, amazing performances and gas one-liners from the kids. Now, with just over one week to go (eek.) the trailer for the Late Late Toy Show has arrived.
The trailer is more of a teaser than anything, as it’s not letting us in on what this year’s exciting theme is. But isn’t the surprise worth it all? Instead, the trailer encapsulates all that was great about watching the Toy Show when you were a kid. It kicks off with a little boy asking his mam if she watched the Toy Show when she was a kid. She then lets him in what her Toy Show essentials were as a child. Cue Christmas jumpers, giant marshmallows with hot chocolate, as much popcorn as possible and that feeling of staying up all night. Sure don’t we still carry on the tradition now?
The nostalgic trailer also has a small tribute to the late Gay Byrne, as the trunk that holds all the Toy Show essentials has ‘Uncle Gaybo’ engraved on it.
After last year’s show, themed The Greatest Showman, took in 1.5 million viewers, there’s high hopes that the 2019 show will be even better.
