This Year’s Toy Show Will Be Virtual And Applications Are Now Open!
This year's show will look slightly different as there won't be a live audience.
Something we can still look forward to in 2020 is the Late Late Toy Show. A staple in the Irish TV calendar, it also heralds the arrival of the Christmas season which this year we need more than ever!
This year’s show will look slightly different as there won’t be an audience, instead we will watch from home like normal and there will be a virtual audience at home too! This is so that social distancing guidelines can be adhered to on the show.

Applications are now open for the 2o20 show, and you must apply before the 23rd of October.
Ryan will still be interacting with the audience members sitting at home, through webcam, so if you apply you need to be prepared to have your home broadcast on RTE! Show bosses have said; “We are creating a magical, socially distanced, audience who will be beamed into studio, through the magic of TV, straight from their own homes!”
“And to do this we need your help. Because we want you and your family to be part of that remote audience and bring the cheers and the claps, and the oohs and the aahs to Ireland’s favourite night of the year.”

Earlier this month Ryan also dropped some hints at what the theme of this year’s show could be. In 2019 the theme was Frozen, in 2018 it was The Greatest Showman, and for 2020?
The Late Late Show host shared a snap of him standing on a yellow table during rehearsals, captioned “very subtle clues within.” This has people thinking it could be The Wizard of Oz this year, ‘follow the yellow brick road’ being the biggest clue!
Whatever the theme is this year, we’ll just be happy to have a little bit of normality, and the perfect excuse to open that tin of Roses early…
