Turns Out You’ve Been Using The Sassy Lady Emoji Wrong All This Time
But that was our go-to emoji *wails*
The sassy lady emoji is perfect in so many situations – when you go on a IDGAF online shopping spree after getting paid early, when you finally click ‘hide all posts’ on that annoying old schoolmate, and of course when you’re delivering some serious sarcasm.
But it turns out that the girl-with-her-hand-out emoji might actually have a very different purpose altogether, at least if one emoji theorist is correct.
Toronto woman Jessi Stern had a ‘revelation’ on Facebook recently that has quickly gone viral.
“ALERT: Everyone I am a genius. It is 1:13 in the morning and I have to go to work tomorrow but I found out the meaning behind [sassy pink emoji girl],” she wrote.
“It is part 2 of [haircut pink emoji girl]. Look, in the hair cutting one she has long hair that gets cut at her shoulders and then she’s showing it off!
“There is meaning to everything in life. Thank you for your time. Carry on.”
While Jessi’s hypothesis has yet to be proven, she’s definitely shaken things up:
It’s still the sassy girl emoji to me!! pic.twitter.com/AldgVDW78l

And this poor Twitter user definitely had the wrong end of the stick:
Always thought this emoji was a swaggy potato but on IPhone you see it as a sassy girl and its ruined it for me pic.twitter.com/pbcdo8rpiq

The official emoji inventors at Unicode, however, refer to Sassy Lady In Pink as ‘Information Desk Girl,’ which totally throws a spanner in the works.
So which is she? Sassy? Happy with her haircut? Informative? Tell us, world.
