A Gal From Longford Is Heading Into The Love Island Villa Tonight… Meet Maura Higgins
Will the glamour of the villa match the glamour of Longford?
In the closing moments of last night’s episode of Love Island, two new girls were introduced on their way into the villa.
Irish viewers were shocked to hear a thick Midlands accent emanating from their TV screens – and sure enough, Maura Higgins from Longford is about to shake things up on the Island. Yes, we have not one Irish representative, but TWO!
Maura is a 28-year-old model and grid girl (sadly not to do with cattle grids, as we initially thought, but a hostess at motor racing events) and says she’s a “relationship type of girl” who goes for “personality more than anything”.
“I would definitely look for someone who is really honest and a very confident guy, but not arrogant, and definitely someone who makes me laugh,” she confesses. “They have to have banter, without a doubt.”
So what else has Maura told us about herself? Well, she’s a Bryan Adams fan (I’m Ready is her wedding song), has never been on a dating app (lucky), and was previously in a nine-year relationship that ended a few years ago. Her best and worst qualities, are, according to her:
I talk over people… a lot! I even notice myself doing it. I’m not a good cook. I’m also quite critical of myself. But I would say I’m a really good girlfriend, I’m very honest and I’m caring.
Now we must delve into her Instagram, as is the custom. It’s filled mostly with absolutely stunning model shots, but here she is in action as a grid girl:

She’s taken a picture on the pink bed in Krystle that every single Irish influencer has also taken a picture on:
And she is no stranger to getting raaaaacy for the ‘gram:
She must put the heart crossways in her mammy every time she posts.
Maura is perfect Love Island material so far – we’ll see how she fares once she meets the rest of the contestants tonight. Maybe she’ll sneak in a few bags of Tayto for Yewande?
