Laura Whitmore and Olivia Attwood Are ‘In Talks’ To Host The Next Season Of Love Island
So, Maura was just teasing us after all.
The past few months has been a whirl wind when it comes to Love Island. First, came the news that we were getting a winter season of the show, then the teasers started to float about, followed by the more serious news of presenter Caroline Flack being arrested, then her statement that she’ll be stepping away from the show. It’s almost like the 12 days of Christmas, Love Island edition.
Now, the speculation has begun over who the next Love Island presenter will be. Seemingly, Laura Whitmore is next in line. According to The Sun, Laura has already had a secret meeting with ITV to discuss taking on the role. An insider let The Sun in on the news, “It’s an amazing job, every TV presenter in Britain wants it, so of course Laura was open to speaking to bosses about it,” an insider told the publication.
“She’s already had a chat about it – as soon as Caroline quit, they needed to sign someone up ASAP. Laura already knows the production crew from when she goes out to visit Iain on location, and bosses from her previous jobs on ITV.”
As for Love Island’s spin off show, Aftersun, Olivia Attwood is the gal that’s ‘in talks’ to present the show. The Mirror have stated that the former Islander is at the top of the producers’ list to host the series.
“Olivia starred on Love Island in 2017 – she knows exactly what the Islanders will be going through. Olivia has really proven herself as a TV star. Since making a name for herself she’s worked on a number of shows including Crackin’ On, Celebs Go Dating and TOWIE, as well as appearing as a guest on I’m A Celebrity… Extra Camp and Aftersun. Bosses have already scheduled meetings with Olivia to discuss the role but hope she’ll be the one to sign on the dotted line.”
OG fans of Love Island will know Olivia oh so well, so she could be the perfect fit for the extra helping of Love Island on a Sunday night.
